Survey

Time has been passing away so fast since the Festival, and we are now writing a report of our work, our expectations and the feedbacks we got so far from everyone.

If you feel like helping us, please answer the questions of our survey and i will publish a summary as soon as we are done with it. The survey page will remain open for a week only since we need the statistics for our final presentation. However it will be re-opened afterwards, feedbacks at any time are very welcome and useful for us!
Thank you!

Fruits of the MCH Preparations

I will never know, how time has passed?! I must admit, it has been a great challenge but a great success at the end. I am really thankful to my friends: Annika, Laurent, Marie, Filomena and Yo that have taken all my complaints, supported my ideas good/bad, giving me hugs every time I needed. It was extremely fabulous to work with you and manage a successful work after all. The more credit goes to the friends who helped us in the Festival arena, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
Here are some memories from the day, sorry for the delay because we have been very busy with our Courses just after the Festival. More will come up later... Enjoy!

Day + 1, time to recover

Hello everyone!

it is difficult to say all the things we fell yesterday from 7 in the morning until 1 at night, so many feelings in one day, enough to sleep 24h afterwards...and it is actually what i did!

We just want to tell you all a big thank you for coming to the Festival yesterday, day & night, for your support, your help, your smiles, your words, it was fantastic, and we couldn't have made it without you!!
A big thank you also to all the speakers, shops and artists present this day, it was such a pleasure to welcome you!
It is also a pleasure and pride for us to see the feedbacks we got from the media who talked about the programme and came and interview us and visitors, and here are some articles you can find online:
The Festival as an event is over, but there are still a lot to do to close the project, as least until next year!
Pictures to come soon, as much as more information about what's going to happen now of our Making Change Happen Festival!!

5:30 in Lund

At this time of the day, it is obvious, it is still dark, and it feels pretty lonely and cold in the middle of this darkness.

However!

A long day is waiting for us, and, though there is not so much left to prepare in Stadshallen, the day seems like a long challenge, even a battle, that we plan to win. After months of work we are reaching at last the day when this work will be judged by the unknown anonymous public.
Direction Stadshallen at 7 to finalize the place and the activities, sound and light checks, and door opening at 9:00.

At 9:15, our special guest Tommy Adolfsson, a wonderful conch blower, is going to open the Festival. After that we hope things are going to start living by themselves and that people will feel happy to join us.

- First steps of the day, Panel Discussions in English (9:30-11:30) and Swedish (12:30-14-30) and the challenge to produce enough coffee for everyone!
- Second steps, the activities that already started in the morning : LUMES presentations (environmental consultancy and tree planting), fair trade market, Workshsops, theatre, movie made by students, schoool exhibitions,....
- Third Step, the concerts between 18:00 and 24:00. For the programme please click
here
- And Final step: cleaning!!!

:)

We wish you a pleasant day, and we're all looking forward to meeting you in Stadshallen. If you have any question and comment you want to address directly to us, you won't miss the organization team, we're all wearing the brown Tshirt with the official logo (pic in a previous article!)

Final Day!

Today was a long day. it's always the same when you organize a big thing, you always have to expect last minute troubles or fears. But still, everything went well and we evacuated some little stress.

We installed the rooms this afternoon. The teachers of the school helped us fixing the school exhibitions, and we really have to congratulate the kids and their teacher: what they did is wonderful! in Stadshallen you will find paintings, collages, recycling works, they were very creative and it's a pleasure for us, a reward for the last months of work.

We also would like to congratulate Sofi Hellborg who just got the Fellis-priset!! It will be a pleasure and an honour to have her playing tomorrow night for our Festival, don't miss her performance at 20:15 on the main stage !!

See the article that the Sydsvenkan wrote about it there !

Thank you to sponsors, thank you to our friends, thank you to our Master Programme

While talking to the journalist i realized how much we've been going through since our first notes in the white board. It was an interested flashback in my mind, a recollection of feelings, ideas, stress, hopes, happy moments... i remember myself writing everything down, names of people to contact, places to go to, shops to visit. i smile when i think about my fears when talking to people and ask for sponsorship.

There are still 2 days to go in the organization, and some more weeks to fix our budget afterwards, but i'd like to send a sincere warm thank you to all the people supporting the Making Change Happen Festival, and more specifically supporting us with money and helping hands and smiles.

The list of people to consider is long but i'll make a special effort to name our main sponsors one by one:

- LUMES-LUCSUS
- Lunds Kommun
- Kultur i Lund
- Mobility Management Department
- Musik i Syd
- Coop Konsum on Mårtenstorget
- Ramklints Konditori
- Mossagården

... and of course all the volunteer workers who are helping to make change happen on friday!

2 days left!!!

Rush Rush Rush, we're in an exciting rush! 2 days left before the Festival and there are still things to organize!

Today we had an interview in Stasdhallen with a journalist from Skånska Dagbladet, regional newspaper, in order to present the project and hope to attract even more people to come on friday. The contact we think was good, and the journalist said our work was ambitious but great, something new happening in Lund. Expect to find also an article tomorrow or friday in the Sydsvenkan (an other regional newspaper), we got a phone interview yesterday while we were painting our posters!it's a good feeling to see that media are interested in our work, and we count of their articles to make people come both during the day and the concerts.

Internet is also an important tool. Mails have been sent to the main departments of Lund University and they are presented the Festival programme on their official webpages. Some musical websites are also advertising the event (Musik i Syd, Sydsvenska Dygnet Runt, DinDel).

And of course, posters and flyers will be distributed in town all day long, and people will be around to meet and discuss with the people.

***
Tomorrow we'll finally install the school projects, the posters and prepare the sound system in advance to be ready early on friday morning.

Yesterday we made some painting with Zeynep to prepare posters and have some time off from stress. These posters, painted with our hands and feets in LUMES (under the curious looks of students and teachers) will be set on the walls and the entrance of Stadshallen:

4 days left!

We've been working for months on the Making Change Happen project, and we're now experiencing the rush and stress of the last days before the event (only 4!!). Meetings, phone calls, hundreds of mails, there is no time anymore to rest, and so far we've been quite efficient. We solved the last technical details, and today we are going back to Stadshallen to check the place again with the help of the caretaker.

More last-minute news to come soon!!
